On
Wednesday, 7 August 2013, Prestige Academy’s first year Event Management
Students, under the direction of Mr. CE Mullins, hosted their annual women’s
evening at Bellville Civic Centre.
This forms part of a
practical component of the subject Events Practice-1. The students catered for
190 women and served canapés, dessert and drinks to celebrate Women. Students
had to co-ordinate and decorate their selected tables according to the theme
namely'; Splash of Colour.
The
much-anticipated Charmaine Sparrow, from the Laughter Company SA, provided the
evening with ample laughter, which was appreciated by all who attended.
Jan-Hendrik
Fourie then graced the ladies with his presence, by performing well-known songs
from Adele and Frank Sinatra, with great talent and poise.
The
students donated a section of the proceeds from the evening, to safe -house
Huis Jabes, in aid of the victims of women and child abuse. The other section
of proceeds were donated to the Prestige Academy bursary fund for disadvantaged
students.
This
event was a tremendous success and, once again, our students left us
speechless!
